I’m Voting Republican!

June 18th, 2008

The following movie outlines all the reasons that I have decided to vote Republican. Humanity be damned…

Where Are We Headed?

June 9th, 2008

Alright folks, time for me to step up. Seem that I’m not the only one a little pissed off about the price of gas, the rising price of food, travel, George Bush, the fact that no one in our government is held accountable for anything unless they get caught sleeping with (or soliciting sex from someone in a bathrooom…). Let’s see… we hold our elected officials accountable for who they sleep with?

WHO F-ING CARES?!

Screw whoever you want, just not our COUNTRY!

Lee Iacocca has written a new book talk about this very thing. How do I know this? Cause I got one of those emails… “I never forward email but…”

So here is is:

Remember Lee Iacocca, the VP at Ford credited with the birth of the Mustang, the man who rescued Chrysler Corporation from their death throes, and the owner of the famous quote “Lead, follow, or get out of the way”? He has a new book, and here are some excerpts.

Lee Iacocca writes:

‘Am I the only guy in this country who’s fed up with what’s happening? Where the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder. We’ve got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we’ve got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can’t even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car. But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, ‘Stay the course’

Stay the course? You’ve got to be kidding. This is America, not the damned ‘Titanic’ I’ll give you a sound bite: ‘Throw all the bums out!’

You might think I’m getting senile, that I’ve gone off my rocker, and maybe I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country anymore.

The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in handcuffs. While we’re fiddling in Iraq , the Middle East is burning and nobody seems to know what to do. And the press is waving ‘pom-poms’ instead of asking hard questions. That’s not the promise of the ‘America’ my parents and yours traveled across the ocean for. I’ve had enough. How about you?

I’ll go a step further. You can’t call yourself a patriot if you’re not outraged. This is a fight I’m ready and willing to have.

The Biggest ‘C’ is Crisis !

Leaders are made, not born. Leadership is forged in times of crisis. It’s easy to sit there with your feet up on the desk and talk theory. Or send someone else’s kids off to war when you’ve never seen a battlefield yourself. It’s another thing to lead when your world comes tumbling down.

On September 11, 2001, we needed a strong leader more than any other time in our history We needed a steady hand to guide us out of the ashes. A Hell of a Mess. So here’s where we stand. We’re immersed in a bloody war with no plan for winning and no plan for leaving. We’re running the biggest deficit in the history of the country. We’re losing the manufacturing edge to Asia, while our once-great companies are getting slaughtered by health care costs. Gas prices are skyrocketing, and nobody in power has a coherent energy policy. Our schools are in trouble. Our borders are like sieves. The middle class is being squeezed every which way. These are times that cry out for leadership.

But when you look around, you’ve got to ask: ‘Where have all the leaders gone?’ Where are the curious, creative communicators? Where are the people of character, courage, conviction, omnipotence, and common sense? I may be a sucker for alliteration, but I think you get the point.

Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland security than making us take off our shoes in airports and throw away our shampoo? We’ve spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy, and all we know how to do is react to things that have already happened.

Name me one leader who emerged from the crisis of Hurricane Katrina. Congress has yet to spend a single day evaluating the response to the hurricane, or demanding accountability for the decisions that were made in the crucial hours after the storm. Everyone’s hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping it doesn’t happen again. Now, that’s just crazy. Storms happen. Deal with it. Make a plan. Figure out what you’re going to do the next time.

Name me an industry leader who is thinking creatively about how we can restore our competitive edge in manufacturing. Who would have believed that there could ever be a time when ‘The Big Three’ referred to Japanese car companies? How did this happen, and more important, what are we going to do about it?

Name me a government leader who can articulate a plan for paying down the debt, or solving the energy crisis, or managing the health care problem. The silence is deafening. But these are the crises that are eating away at our country and milking the middle class dry.

I have news for the gang in Congress. We didn’t elect you to sit on your asses and do nothing and remain silent while our democracy is being hijacked and our greatness is being replaced with mediocrity. What is everybody so afraid of? That some bonehead on Fox News will call them a name? Give me a break. Why don’t you guys show some spine for a change?

Had Enough?

Hey, I’m not trying to be the voice of gloom and doom here. I’m trying to light a fire. I’m speaking out because I have hope; I believe in America In my lifetime I’ve had the privilege of living through some of America’s greatest moments I’ve also experienced some of our worst crises: the ‘Great Depression’, ‘World War II’, the ‘Korean War’, the ‘Kennedy Assassination’, the ‘Vietnam War’, the 1970s oil crisis, and the struggles of recent years culminating with 9/11. If I’ve learned one thing, it’s this:

‘You don’t get anywhere by standing on the sidelines waiting for somebody else to take action. Whether it’s building a better car or building a better future for our children, we all have a role to play. That’s the challenge I’m raising in this book. It’s a call to ‘Action’ for people who, like me, believe in America . It’s not too late, but it’s getting pretty close. So let’s shake off the crap and go to work. Let’s tell ‘em all we’ve had ‘enough.’

Thanks Lee Iacocca.

I hope this resonates with you. Let’s do something here. No Vote No Voice!

Here’s the book:

Help be the Change on Zaadz

December 5th, 2007

Zaadz is a social network like MySpace or Facebook. People can create an account, communicate with others, author blogs, add friends and lots of other things. What Zaadz does a little differently is that they have rewritten the concept of “Social” in the social networking world. Social in the sense that they care about our world and it’s people. Social in the sense that are are concerned about the environment. The Zaadz community is concerned about the different cultures of the world. Zaadz mission is to make our planet a better place in every sense and Zaadz motto is: “Zaadz: Connect. Grow. Inspire. Empower.”

Zaadz is the Social Networking alternative. They go so far to have a button on the bottom of every page proclaiming themselves “100% Organic”! You can notice the differences immediately between Zaadz and sites like Facebook and LinkedIn when you start the process of registering for a Zaadz account.

When you click “you! (join now)” link (there version of register for an account), you must in mind agree to the Zaadz concepts. The concepts they set forth are: Harmony, Integrity, Peace, Trust, Truth, Unity and Finally, Love. You agree to these concepts by clicking each word in a series of circles that resembles a flower.

On this page they explain the reason why. They explain that they are different than most other online communities. They are committed to the concepts inside the circles.

They ask tht before you join to take a moment and commit (by clicking the circles), to these principles. Once you do (after all they are all great concepts) you’re in.

So, is there a way to both serve this community and grow your business? You bet there is. Zaadz is the place to take advantage of the growing green economy. Never has there been a place where so many socially conscious and active individuals meet and hang out in one place. The Green Economy, which I will here officially name Green 2.0, is growing every day. Experts predict that the green economy will make the dot com boom seem trivial.

Here are five things you can do to guide these socially minded people to your website:

1. Create a Meaningful Profile - Just like the other social network sites (Plaxo and LinkedIn for example) you can create a profile. The content you add to this profile is very important. Remember this is the first thing other members will see about you and your business. You only get one chance to make a first impression. Make your profile complete. Add a cool title for yourself. Hard to explain but they will give you some examples like (Philosopher or Thinker), just go with it. Add a good description about you and your services in the about me section. Remember be complete.

2. Add Some Friends - Like the other social networking sites, you can add friends. Click the “Zaadzsters” link and use the search feature to find people with similar interests. By adding friends, you increase your reach. Remember the 7 Zaadz principles, you are not here only to benefit yourself, you are here to enlighten. By adding friends on Zaadz, you are connecting with loads of new people that have like interests, goals and dreams.

3. Add an Event - Hosting a Seminar? Build an events page and invite all your new Zaadz friends. On your events page you can add a link to your website and it even add a link to a Google Map. Marketing doesn’t get much easier (or more inexpensive!) than this.

4. Join a Pod (Zaadz Group) - Browse Pods or use the Pod Tag feature to find a couple of pods that you fit into. Join and share your ideas, your goals, your services with the other members. Share consciously, no one wants to be besieged with a sales pitch on the first meeting. That’s not the goal here. The goal is to create a network of like minded individuals, who, once you earn their trust, may very well become some of the best emissaries for you, your message and your products/services.

5. Post a Blog - With your Zaadz account, you get a blog. Here is the place where you get to add really compelling and meaningful content full of startling insight for your fellow community members. This doesn’t have to be directly about you or your business but rather about the bigger picture that your business products/services address. For example, if you are a Real Estate Agent, don’t write about what you offer, and offer some tips about landscaping and curb appeal.

Since it’s inception, Zaadz has been tagged with a “New Age label. In my opinion, this is not a bad thing. After all, we are in a New Age of Green and Social Consciousness marketing and business. Go Green 2.0.

Chocolate Rain

December 1st, 2007

What started out as a Youtube hit, has hit the big time. The foresight of the singer/composer is pretty nifty too. Right in the description on the original Youtube page it says:

“Heads up to remixers: I’m not sure how the long term commercial rights to the song will develop, but all commercial rights are generally reserved.”

To market Dr. Pepper’s Diet Cherry Chocolate flavor, they launched a viral campaign featuring the already young baritone YouTube sensation, Tay Zonday, 25 in a remake of the song that made him famous, “Chocolate Rain.” The parody used in the ads is called “Cherry Chocolate Rain” and guest stars rapper, Mista Johnson.

The original Chocolate Rain video was sung and produced by the Ph. D. Candidate, whose real name is actually Adam Nyerere Bahner, and hit YouTube on April 22, 2007. Since then, it’s had over 11 million views. View numbers will probably hit another spike thanks to the new Dr. Pepper ad.

Here is the original

Kelsey’s Purpose

October 25th, 2007

I usually don’t have topics like this in my blog but this story really touched me. . .

I just was introduced to a little girl named Kelsey Briggs. She was a bright and, OH MY GOD, beautiful little girl. In 2005 Kelsey died from abuse at the hands of her step father. As a human being I find this kind of action deplorable. As a man, I am ashamed. Men need to step up. We need to wake up. The good one’s (men, that is) need to do deeds that overshadow the horrible deeds done by some men. We need to educate, we need to take responsibility for the actions of all men.

It is no longer enough to sit passively by as long as we are not directly affected by acts like this. But the truth is, we are all affected by acts like this. When any child dies in a senseless manner, we are all diminished. We need to begin being proactive, dealing with potential issues before they arise. Not only reactive. As good as they are, laws named after dead children, don’t save THAT child (this is reactive). Kelsey was taken from her mother’s home twice after suffering abuse, including 2 broken legs. On both occasions she was returned to the abusers.

Currently the step father is spending 30 years in prison. Personally, I think he got off easy!

Just When you Thought You’d Seen it All. . .

Wow! Who knew, even cockatoos can dance. . .

Snowball is a Medium Sulphur Crested Eleanora Cockatoo that dances to the Back Street Boys. And boy can he dance. Check out how he keeps the beat. Even the other bird in the cage next to Snowball gets into the act!

He came to the Bird Lovers Only Rescue in August 2007 and is a joy.

The real reason for the net. . .

September 1st, 2007

You know, sometimes when you cruise through YouTube you can actually learn something. Today I learned that a cat named Nora really likes to play the piano. If you search youtube for Nora you will also learn that the original Nora Movie has had over 5.5 million views and they now sell Nora t-shirts, mugs & posters. Pretty good marketing if you ask me.

But the best thing I learned today was what the Internet is really for. Enjoy this really clever mash-up!

Web Design On Purpose

August 20th, 2007

I believe in "Web Design on Purpose". What I mean by that is that when we design, we have a purpose. Our purpose is to empower our clients to maximize they’re web presence and PROFITS!

The old school methodology was to build a static site with the usual home page, about us, contact, links, gallery. . . blah, blah, blah.

The problem with this old philosophy is that once these sites are built, nothing else happens. No marketing, no updates, no good.

We decided to create a web design that will empower our clients. We will never build a site without a marketing plan. This includes an email autoresponder, some Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and marketing tips.

Here are our normal rates:

  • basic site with some SEO starts at $4,500.00
  • advanced SEO - Starts at $2,000
  • 1 hour, 1 on 1 Internet Marketing & Strategy Coaching $200

The total for this is $6,700 and that is just a start.

We wanted to find a way to make this more accessible, so we set up a more effective system.

We started building custon designed sites based on the architecture of the Wordpress Blog Software. With this system you can take advantage of an easily updatable system. This allows you to:

  • Add new pages to your site as you need to,
  • Add new pictures to a photo gallery
  • and add new items to your blog.
  • create unlimited auto-responders

All of this without knowing any code!

When we build your custom site, we will target keywords appropriate for your site, submit your site to all the big search engines and put you in the right position to leverage your new site to maximize visitors and PROFITS!

As a FREE BONUS we will give you a complete video tutorial DVD containing everything you need to know about:

  • your new blog software
  • Keyword usage on your pages to maximize search engine traffic
  • navigating google analytics (very important for checking your stats)
  • using social networking sites like myspace to bring traffic to your site
  • using your auto-responder
  • using your web hosting control panel including how to add new email addresses
  • using Amazon.com to leverage yourself as an expert
  • getting quality inbound links
  • writing and submitting articles to article directories

The information on this DVD will help you bring visitors to your site and convert them into paying customers/clients.

Similar DVD’s sell on other sites for as much as $897. With this package this DVD is yours FREE!!
